LAHORE: As the Champions One-Day Cup approaches, the captains of two of the tournament’s top teams, Shaheen Shah Afridi of the Lions and Mohammad Haris of the Stallions, have shared their thoughts on what promises to be an exciting competition.
Shaheen Shah Afridi, leading the Lions, expressed his enthusiasm about the upcoming tournament, emphasizing the high stakes and the talent within his team. Afridi, known for his formidable bowling prowess, is keenly aware of the expectations that come with leading such a promising squad. “It is going to be a thrilling experience leading the Lions in the Champions One-Day Cup,” Afridi said. “Given the high stakes of this tournament and the presence of several young and exciting players on our team roster, I am confident that we can deliver an impressive performance.”
Afridi’s leadership will be crucial as the Lions look to capitalize on their strong lineup. His experience and skill, combined with the youthful energy of his team, are expected to create a dynamic force in the tournament.
On the other side, Mohammad Haris, captain of the Stallions, is equally optimistic about his team’s prospects. Haris will lead the Stallions with the support of mentor Shoaib Malik, a former Pakistan star who has been instrumental in shaping the team’s legacy.
“It is an honour to lead the star-studded Stallions in the Champions One-Day Cup,” Haris commented. “We have a strong squad, featuring some of the biggest names in Pakistan cricket, which naturally raises the expectations from the fans.”
