SWABI: Awami National Party (ANP) leader Khanzada Shah Nawaz Khan on Saturday accused the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government of funding the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s rally in Islamabad.
Speaking at the Meet-the-Press programme at the Swabi Press Club, Khanzada, a former candidate for NA-19 (Swabi-1), alleged that officers and workers of the tehsil municipal administration in Swabi district had been tasked with organising the PTI’s rally.
“Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been suffering due to the PTI’s flawed economic policies for the past 12 years. Government institutions in the province are struggling to pay employees’ salaries, yet the PTI government is spending provincial funds on its rally in Punjab,” he said.
He said that the ANP leaders had made tremendous contributions to the restoration of democracy in the country but that conspiracies were hatched against its leaders to keep them out of the parliament.
Flanked by other leaders of the party, he said that the imposition of PTI leadership on KP was an injustice.
Flanked by other party leaders, Khanzada criticised the imposition of PTI leadership on the province and said: “The PTI leaders have weakened the province economically and misguided the youths.”
He stressed the need for the government to restore peace in terror-hit districts and take decisive steps to resolve the province’s economic crisis.
