BANNU: The family members of an official of the Revenue Department, who was ‘kidnapped’ a few days ago, on Saturday asked the government to recover him or else they would stage a protest.
Speaking at a press conference here, Hamza and Abu Bakkar, the sons of the kidnapped official, said that their father Tajmali Khan had gone to appear before the anti-corruption establishment Bannu in connection with the hearing of a case when he was kidnapped by unidentified men posing as officials of the anti-corruption establishment Peshawar.
They said that the family approached the officials concerned to know about the whereabouts of their father, but they expressed ignorance and said they had no knowledge about him.
The office-bearers of the Bannu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, including senior vice president Nasir Khan Bangash and social worker Jamshed Khan were also present on the occasion and said they would be compelled to give a call for protest if the kidnapped official was not recovered within the next 24 hours.
