The heavy monsoon rains in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have led to at least 68 deaths, according to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). This tragic and alarming situation highlights the critical need for proper management and proactive measures when it comes to natural disasters in the region.
In spite of the efforts of various agencies, disaster management still appears to lack sufficient support. The government must invest in climate-resilient infrastructure and upgrade warning systems to reduce the impact of adverse weather. Furthermore, public awareness programs should be organized in communities about flood safety.
