This refers to the letter ‘Spare us the math’ (September 3, 2024) by Sadam Hussain. The HEC seems to have just copied the US undergraduate studies model, where they force students in the first few semesters to study a mishmash of all manners of subjects to earn 'credits'. This system only ends up producing confusion. The old British-style term system with a select focus on a few subjects is a much more handy and practical approach.
What the HEC cannot seem to understand is that just copy-pasting curricula from one educational system to another will not work and that standards for BSc/MSc degree studies for science and technical subjects are not necessarily comparable to those in BA/MA studies.
