LHC orders demolition of brick kilns not converted to zigzag technology

LAHORE: Justice Shahid Karim of Lahore High Court (LHC) has ordered demolition of brick kilns which have not been converted to zig zag technology.
The court also ordered implementing its order to ensure pick and drop of schoolchildren by buses. The court also ordered lowering all greenbelts of Lahore than the level of roads.
The court ordered WASA to install meters on tubewells of all private housing schemes ant sought a detailed report from WASA with regard to installation of water meters.
The court during the hearing of a petition regarding elimination of smog expressed annoyance over wasting money in the name of decoration of Lahore. Mian Irfan Akram, counsel for WASA, presented an interim report. It said work is underway for installation of tubewell meters in private housing schemes.
