The residents of Adiala Road, Defence Road, Munawar Colony and Dhoke Juma are facing low to zero gas pressure even in peak summer season. They are not only facing long hours of power loadshedding, but also facing low to zero gas pressure for some days.
The tall claims of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) for improvement in gas supply have dashed to the ground as there is absolutely no respite for public from low to zero gas pressure even in peak summer season.
For a couple of days, gas is not even available for cooking purposes and most of the households use old methods of burning wood, coal or purchasing costly LPG.
Reportedly, residents of Pirwadhai, Morgah, Gulistan Colony, Kohati Bazaar, Misriyal, Tahli Mohri, Dhamyal, Qasim Market, Girja, Tulsa and some other areas are also facing low to zero gas pressure for some days.
The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) Senior Engineer Shahzad Ahmed, admitting the fact, said that gas pressure will be fine in some days. We are laying new supply lines, therefore, pressure has gone low. Our staff is also busy in maintenance work in different localities. Pressure will be smooth in some days, he assured.
Talking to ‘The News’ people belong to different walks of life strongly protested against government which was totally failed to provide even basic facilities. “We were facing long hours of loadshedding but now we are facing low to zero gas pressure as well,” they said.
Mukhtar Ahmed Malik, a resident of Defence Road, said, “I am surprised to face low to zero gas pressure in peak summer season, when we are bearing over 40 degree Celsius temperature.”
