The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has considered the matter of assessment/evaluation of all medical/dental colleges for continuation of recognition and has decided that the nationwide inspections of all recognized/notified medical and dental institutions, both private and public, based on 2019 standards/criteria shall be conducted w.e.f. 15th September, 2024.
A letter issued by the PMDC registrar to the heads of all recognized medical and dental colleges stated that the inspection reports, after consideration by the council, shall be shared with the institutions for rectification of deficiencies. Institutions will be granted a period of six months, which shall be counted from the date of communication, to rectify the identified deficiencies. The outcome of these inspections will be determined based on the receipt of the response from the institutions and verification of the rectifications made. The letter said the principals were required to prepare for the upcoming inspection.
