JUIF group questions office-bearers selections

MANSEHRA: The former MPA Mufti Kifayatullah-led group in Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUIF) on Friday called for scrapping the district amir and general secretary selections for not being allowed to take part in the electioneering process.

“The chairman of provincial intra-party elections bulldozed the entire electioneering process and picked his blued-eyed and announced them as district amir and general secretary without entertaining me and my group’s contestant of general secretary,” Qazi Habibur Rehman, the aspirant for the slot of district amir, wrote to his party’s central chairmen for inter-party elections.

The chairman of provincial intra-party elections, Maulana Akhtar Rehman Hazarvi had announced that former senator Haydaitullah Shah and Maulana Nasir Mehmood had been elected unopposed as district emir and general secretary of the party in Mansehra respectively.

“The electioneering process which was scheduled to be started at 1 pm initiated at 630 pm and Hazarvi without entertaining me and my group’s aspirant for general secretary Dr Maulana Saeed Abdullah forms announced unopposed the selections of the rival group,” he said.
