Gang held for assaulting women on pretext of job
LAHORE:Special Sexual Offences Investigation Unit (SSOIU) Model Town Friday dismantled a three-member gang involved in the sexual exploitation of women under the pretext of providing them employment.
The police detained suspects Ayesha alias Iqra, Usman, and Naeem during a targeted operation. The police launched the operation when a 20-year-old woman and her 9-month-old daughter of Kahna went missing and her husband filed a case of abduction with Kahna police. Reportedly, the gang lured the woman with the promise of arranging a good job for her along with her infant daughter in Murree where the gangsters assaulted her sexually. Police traced the suspects in Murree and rescued the woman and her baby and arrested the three suspects. During interrogation, the accused confessed to their crimes, admitting that they had targeted and sexually assaulted several other women.
Woman held over injuring friend
In the Lytton Road police area, a woman shot at, injured her friend after her friend allegedly sent an indecent video to her husband. The incident occurred when Maryam lured Ameer Fatima into her car and then opened fire, hitting Fatima in the stomach. Fatima was taken to hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment. The accused, Maryam, was arrested.
