QUETTA: The election tribunal 1 of the Balochistan High Court (BHC) has ordered the biometric verification of votes from seven polling stations in the provincial assembly constituency PB-46 from where MPA Prince Agha Omar Ahmadzai was elected.

The case was heard by Justice Abdullah Baloch in the election tribunal. After recording the statements of the parties in the previous hearing, the court issued a reserved judgment on Thursday, directing the verification of votes from 7 polling stations by Nadra.

The petitioner, Sardar Ahmad Khan Shahwani, had filed a petition alleging rigging against the successful member of the provincial assembly, Prince Omar Ahmadzai, and had requested biometric verification of votes from 7 polling stations in the constituency. Meanwhile the election tribunal 1 of the BHC, comprising Justice Abdullah Baloch, has dismissed the election petition filed by Mir Nematullah Zehri against the successful candidate Mir Zafarullah Zehri from constituency PB-35 Surab.

The dismissal was based on the lack of evidence on Thursday. The tribunal, after examining the claims and evidence from both parties, concluded that no evidence was presented against Mir Zafarullah leading to the dismissal of the election petition filed by Mir Nematullah Zehri.

The case was represented by Nader Chalgari, Bilal Mohsin, and Shabbir Ahmad Sherani, on behalf of the petitioner, while Amanullah Kanrani represented Mir Zafarullah Zehri. The government of Balochistan was represented by Nasrat Baloch, Assistant Advocate General.
