Death knell
This refers to the letter ‘PCB reshuffle’ (September 3, 2024) by Haroon Sikandar Pasha. I would like to congratulate the Bangladesh team on their recent success against our side, on our own home turf no less. The main difference, in my opinion, between both sides was that the Bangladeshis played as a team while our side lacked that team spirit. This is where the major failure of the PCB comes in. Only a year or two ago, these same Pakistani players were at least able to play as a team. Now, they seem to be in complete disarray and totally demoralized. Why?
Unfortunately, the present PCB chairperson and committee all seem to be at a complete loss. I honestly believe they all need to resign now. Or, it might be time to start from scratch and set up a new cricket organization all together. If left unattended, the current situation can only signal the death knell for the sport of cricket in our country.
