Alleged drug peddler arrested

KHAR: An alleged drug peddler and man carrying illegal weapon were arrested as the local police continued action against the narcotics smugglers and other criminals in various areas of Bajaur tribal district.

The alleged drug smuggler identified as Nisar Ahmad was arrested after the police recovered 1000 grams of hashish from his possession in the limits of Salarzai Police Station.The police also arrested an accused carrying an unlicensed pistol during an action. The police registered against them and started an investigation.

The accused were sent to judicial lock-up.It may be mentioned that the police had claimed to have arrested 12 narcotics smugglers during the ongoing crackdown against drugs in the district.The police had also seized drugs during the swoop.
