IGP for timely disposal of pending cases

LAHORE:The Inspector General Police (IGP), Punjab, chaired a meeting at the Central Police Office (CPO) and ordered cops to complete investigation of cases on time.

The meeting was attended via video link by Additional IG South Punjab, all RPOs, CPOs, and DPOs. The IGP reviewed pending road certificates and challans and asked cops to complete road certificates and challans as soon as possible.

He ordered action against investigation officers and SHOs who violated SOPs or caused delays in the completion of road certificates and challans. He emphasised that investigation cases should be completed within the set time frame even if investigation officers were transferred. He said road certificates and challans in drug-related, local, and special laws cases should be submitted to courts on time.

14,622 medico-legal certificates issued

A total of 14,622 medico-legal certificates have been issued this year from police service counters. The spokesperson for Lahore Police said that 2,147 medico-legal certificates were issued from police service counters in the month of August. According to the details, 372 medico-legal certificates were issued from Police Service Counter General Hospital, 325 from Jinnah Hospital, 250 from Services Hospital, 99 from Mayo Hospital, 91 from Ganga Ram Hospital, 208 from Mian Munshi Hospital, 241 from Kot Khawaja Saeed Hospital, 66 from Nawaz Sharif Hospital, 113 from Rural Health Centre Barki, 152 from Awan Dhaywala, 75 from Manga Mandi, 68 from 87 rural health centre Raiwind and 68 medico-legal certificates were issued from rural health centre Chuhng.

PHP arrests 601 wanted criminals

Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) checked 3.8 million individuals via the e-police post app, apprehending 601 wanted criminals and judicial absconders during the checks.

A total of 1.5 million vehicles were inspected, leading to the recovery of 269 stolen vehicles/motorcycles. Under the road safety campaign, 235,000 vehicles were ticketed over violations.
