Tyvek suits distributed among rescuers

LAHORE:Punjab Health Ministers Khawaja Salman Rafique and Khawaja Imran Nazir attended a ceremony of distribution of Tyvek suits among the rescuers at Command and Control Centre, Rescue 1122, Shama office as special guests here on Tuesday.

On this occasion, Secretary Emergency Services Punjab Dr Rizwan Naseer Dean IPH Prof Zarfashan Tahir, Director CDC Dr Yadullah and in-charge World Health Organisation Dr Jamshed, Dr Yahya Gulzar and rescuers participated.

Khawaja Salman Rafique said that Shahbaz Sharif took the idea of rescue motorcycle service from Turkey which was running successfully and added that the Rescue Motorcycle Service was doing a great job. 'We are grateful to the WHO for providing our rescuers with Tyvek suits.'

The minister said that Air Ambulance Service was started for the first time in the history of Pakistan on the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. Inshallah, rescuers will be present every 30km on the highway to provide emergency services to the citizens.

Khawaja Imran Nazir said that the protective suits and kits given by the WHO would prevent monkey-pox. The rescuers are doing their services bravely and fearlessly across Punjab. We pay tribute to the rescuers for their excellent services in the emergency situation, he added.
