City to be made haven of peace with help of businessmen, vows IGP

A four-member delegation of the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KCCI) led by Hafeez Uzair called on Sindh IGP Ghulam Nabi Memon at the Central Police Office on Tuesday and discussed law and order and other important issues of mutual interest.

The Sindh Headquarters DIG briefed the delegation about the crime situation and preventive measures taken by the police in this regard. He said that due to effective and extraordinary measures, there has been a significant decrease in street crime and an extraordinary increase in case detection.

The delegation unanimously appreciated the police measures taken to maintain law and order and fight crime. “We have 55,000 direct and 26,000 indirect members. He said that the steps taken by the Sindh police against crimes and criminals are a matter of satisfaction and I assure you that the business community and businessmen will always stand with the Sindh Police to eliminate crime in the city and in any situation you will find us your helper.”

The IGP told the delegation of businessmen that they have always had faith in the Sindh government and police and this unwavering trust will continue in the future. He said that due to the steps of the Sindh police, street crime has come down to a very negligible level.

Rooting out crime is also the aim of the police, he said, adding that the Sindh government is at the forefront of providing all facilities, including resources to the police stations and budget for their autonomy, and health insurance for the welfare of personnel, while modern cameras are being installed in the city for the elimination of crime.

In addition, keeping in view the present times, the best well-mannered and experienced duty officers are being appointed to improve the police station culture, while the investigation allowance is also being given by the Sindh government to make the investigation of cases effective.

Memon said that with the cooperation of businessmen, we will make this city safe and a haven of peace. Later, IGP Memon presided over a review meeting regarding the expansion of police training branch departments and digitisation of training courses/curriculum at the CPO.

Giving feedback to the participants of the meeting, the DIG Training said the training department of the Sindh police has introduced an online application for the convenience of trained police personnel as well as the application introduced under the name of Training Information Management System (TIMS).
