DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates has launched a visa amnesty scheme providing a two-month window operation from September 1 to October 30 for residents with expired visas to regularize their status or return home without penalties.
The initiative is aimed at those whose residence or tourist visas have expired, allowing them to either legalize their stay or leave the country without incurring fines. UAE authorities have clarified that the scheme does not extend to those who entered the UAE illegally. Those eligible can adjust their visa status without facing any fees or fines, and those opting to leave the country can do so without a travel ban.
Pakistani citizens in the UAE have been encouraged by their consulate to take advantage of this opportunity to either regularize their status or return to Pakistan safely. This initiative provides a chance for illegal residents to return home with dignity and possibly re-enter the UAE in the future with proper documentation.
