PESHAWAR: The Prosecution Officers Welfare Association has decided to hold a convention of its members if their demands were not accepted.

Talking to reporters, the association President Sangeen Khan and General Secretary Javed Ali Mohmand said the members of the association had boycotted the court proceedings a few months back to press the government for acceptance of their demands.

They said the government had held talks with them and assured the association that it would meet the demands, adding that their issues still remained unresolved even after several months. The prosecutors said the association members were considering calling a convention to come up with a strategy to deal with the situation.

They asked all the members of the association to actively participate in the convention. The government, they said, had forwarded a summary to the Finance Department to increase their allowances and basic pay, however, no progress could be made on that matter.
