PESHAWAR: The intra-party elections of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUIF) at the tehsil union council and ward levels across the country have been completed while the election for district level leadership was in progress.
According to the provincial information secretary of the party Abdul Jalil Jan, dates for the election of provincial and central leadership would be announced soon. He said that JUIF was the only political and religious party, which regularly held intra-party polls every five years through secret balloting from the grassroot to the top level.
Elections have been completed in over 600 tehsils and 7,000 union councils, wards, and villages across the country so far, while district-level elections were still underway.Head of the election and membership committee and provincial secretary general of the party Maulana Ataul Haq Darwesh, along with other members of the committee visited all the four provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and tribal districts to oversee the membership campaign.
