Nine die in road accidents in Punjab

LAHORE:The Emergency Services Department (ESD) responded to 1,257 road accidents in all 37 districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. In these accidents, nine people died, whereas 1,346 were injured. Out of these, 570 people with serious injuries were shifted to different hospitals.

Four perish in different accidents

Four people lost their lives in road accidents at different locations here on Sunday. A 16-year-old boy was killed and another seriously injured by a speeding bus near Ashiana Housing Scheme on Ferozepur Road. The victim identified as Meer along with his 15-year-old friend Javed was on his way on a bike when a rashly driven bus hit their bike. As a result, Meer died on the spot and Javed sustained serious injuries. The injured was admitted to a local hospital where his condition was said to be precarious.

Yet in another incident, a bike rider was killed by a truck in the limits of Civil Lines police. The bike rider, yet to be identified, was on his way on a bike when the speeding truck ran over him, resulting in his instant death. Additionally, two friends lost their lives after their high-speed motorcycle dashed into a tree in Civil Lines area. The deceased were identified as 16-year-old Hasnain and 27-year-old Suleman. The bodies were shifted to the morgue.
