Over Rs1.5m released for cops’ treatment

LAHORE:IGP Punjab Dr Usman Anwar has released over Rs1.5 million funds for the treatment of various ailments for police officers and personnel deployed in different districts, including Lahore.

According to details, Lahore Police Inspector Majid Iqbal Bhatti was granted Rs250,000, Retired DIG Dr Masood Saleem received Rs250,000 for his wife's medical expenses, while Lahore Police Traffic Warden Sabir Hussain was given Rs150,000 for his wife's treatment. Similarly, the wife of martyred Constable Zia Ullah was granted Rs150,000. Sahiwal's Inspector Wazir Ahmad received Rs100,000 for heart treatment, and retired Assistant Anwar was given Rs100,000 for heart treatment as well. Lahore Police Driver Constable Riaz received Rs100,000 for kidney treatment, and the remaining funds were distributed to police employees suffering from various diseases.

Cops warned against negligence

The CCPO has emphasised that disciplinary action will be taken against investigating officers or other staff found guilty of negligence, incompetence or wrong intentions. The CCPO said this while chairing a meeting at his office here on Sunday to review overall law and order situation and other professional matters. He issued instructions for preparing a security plan for 12th Rabiul Awwal.
