LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif met with Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan on Saturday.
During the meeting, Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan congratulated Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz on the launch of mega electricity relief bill programme.
The chief minister said, “The provincial cabinet, by approving this public-friendly programme, has taken a historic step. Unlike in the past, public funds will now be utilised for providing relief to the people.” The speaker added, “The reduction in electricity price by Rs14 per unit is a much-needed relief and a breath of fresh air for the public.”
The two leaders also discussed the current political situation and affairs of the provincial assembly, as well as various development projects across Punjab. The chief minister also expressed deep sorrow over the tragic murder of three women in Pakpattan. She immediately sought a report from the IGP on the incident.
