‘CM Khailta Punjab Games to be organised in a befitting manner’

LAHORE: Punjab Youth Affairs Department is going to organise next edition of Khailta Punjab Games in a befitting manner as per vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and more than 10 lakh male and female athletes from across the province will participate in this mega event.

Director General Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Pervez Iqbal shared this information while talking on the final day of Junior U-17 National Taekwondo Championship at Nishtar Park Sports Complex Gymnasium Hall. Secretary Punjab Taekwondo Association Dr Izharul Haq, Associate Secretary Najia Rasool and Administrator NPSC Gymnasium Hall Mustafa Shah were also present on this occasion.

Pervez Iqbal said that the competitions of Khailta Punjab Games will be conducted on a large scale from Union Council level to Inter-Division level. “This grand event will be a golden opportunity for thousands of male and female athletes to demonstrate their sports skills at a bigger platform,” he added. He said that regular organisation of sports events is necessary for the true development of sports culture among the younger generation of the province. “The holding of Junior U-17 National Taekwondo Championship is a good omen for the promotion of this game among the talented youth”. As many as 12 teams including Punjab A, Punjab B, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan, AJK, Army, Railways, Air Force, and Wapda participated in the Junior U-17 National Taekwondo Championship.
