No one will be allowed to sabotage peace in Swat: minister
MINGORA: Minister for Livestock and Fisheries of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Fazal Hakim Khan Yousafzai on Saturday said that no one would be allowed to sabotage the peace of Swat valley. “The government and the masses will extend full support to the police department to combat terrorism,” he told reporters here.
He said that the locals and police had been rendering matchless sacrifices for the peace of the region, and no one would be given a chance to sabotage the peace. “Thousands of the locals have been martyred, our kids have become orphans and sisters have become widowed. We will strongly oppose any military operation in this region and have already passed a resolution in KP Assembly,” Fazal Hakim said, and added that being the victim of terrorism, the masses and legislators would stand side by side to eradicate the menace of terrorism on a permanent basis.
Member of Provincial Assembly and chairman district advisory committee (DDAC), Ahktar Khan advocate was also present on the occasion.
The minister added that the nation had given them a mandate and they would not hurt their trust under any circumstances. “As a public representative, from the floor of the assembly, I have strongly opposed the operation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Swat,” he added. Akhtar Khan said that soon a meeting of all stakeholders, including law-enforcement agencies and police, would be called on the issue of terrorism and lawlessness.
