MANSEHRA: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government would install a chairlift from Naran to Saiful Muluk Lake under a public-private partnership project.

“We are here to finalise the feasibility report of this chairlift project, which would further promote tourism in Kaghan Vvalley,” Tashfeen Haider, the director general of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture

and Tourism Authority, told reporters in Naran on

Saturday.

He said that the rest of the formalities would be completed for the execution of the public-private venture after the completion of the feasibility report.

“Patients and those scared of jeep travelling could also visit Saiful Muluk Lake with the completion of the project,” he added. He said that visitors would enjoy a chairlift voyage from Naran, the commercial hub of Kaghan valley, to Saiful Muluk Lake.

“We have also finalised sites for stations of that chairlift in the Naran and at Saiful Muluk Lake, which falls in the domain of the Wildlife Department,” said Haider.

The official said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government wanted to explore more and more tourist attractions and give boosts to already existing recreational resorts such as Kaghan valley.

He said that the government was also working sincerely to address issues faced by visitors anywhere in the province and Kaghan Valley too.

Meanwhile, the business fraternity in Kaghan has welcomed the government’s move to install chairlifts through public-private partnerships in the valley but cast doubt over its early completion.

“The then Awami National Party-led coalition government had also approved that chairlift project but couldn’t execute it. We are optimistic that the present government will complete the important project soon,” said Hussan Deen, the chairman of the hotel association.
