KARACHI: Navy won seven medals on the first day of the 11th National Air Rifle/Pistol championship that commenced in Karachi and Jehlum simultaneously on Saturday.
In the individual category of air pistol event for men, Navy’s M Arsalan, M Zahid, and Shahrukh Khan claimed gold, silver,
and bronze medals, re-
spectively, with the score of 577, 571, and 571, respectively.
In the individual category of the said event for women, Army’s Kishmala Talat won gold medal with the score of 576 while Navy’s Rabia Kabeer scored 565 points for silver medal and Army’s Rabia Afzal clinched bronze medal with the score of 564 points.
In the individual category of air rifle event for men, Aqib Latif from Navy scored 626.3 points to take gold medal while Army’s Sarfraz Gul and Sulaiman Khan claimed silver and bronze medals, respectively, with the score of 625.9 and 624.3, respectively.
At the end of day one, Navy topped the medal table with three gold, three silver, and one bronze medal while Army with one gold, one silver, and three bronze medals took second place. Sindh and Wapda have not won any medal yet.
