Report on Islamabad Club presented in NA

ISLAMABAD: The Cabinet Division on Friday presented a report in the National Assembly on the Islamabad Club, stating that Islamabad Club was allotted an area of 352 acres, with main club measuring 11.46 acres. According to the report, the Islamabad Club is functioning under the ambit of Islamabad Club (Administration) Ordinance No. XXXIII 1978 and the Islamabad Club Rules & Regulations made thereunder.

Accordingly, the members are entitled to use the club facilities and are also entitled to invite guests to the club. The club’s property is being utilised judiciously in the best interest of the club and its members. The Islamabad Club has Golf Course measuring 233.4 acres, Polo Ground, Cricket Ground, Futsal measuring 102.5 acres, Riding Club and others measuring 5.5 acres.

According to the report presented in the NA, the Islamabad Club offers membership to various classes including honorary membership for the president and prime minister of Pakistan, parliamentarian membership for sitting members of the Senate and National Assembly, and service membership for high-ranking government and defense officers, among others. Additionally, there are categories for diplomats, non-diplomats, corporate entities, and private individuals, each with specific conditions such as employment status, residency, and social standing. Applicable membership fee for different categories is as under; legislators (permanent membership) Rs500,000, legislators (tenure membership) Rs200,000 (valid tenures only), Rs500,000 service (permanent membership), non-service (permanent membership) Rs350,000, associate (diplomat) for six months $750, for one year $1,500, for two years $3,000 and $5,000, Rs40 million for corporate.

The report stated that the club’s property is properly managed. The safety and security of its members and their guests is one of the top priorities of the Islamabad Club. The club has well-trained security staff to maintain secure environment within its premises.

The security team is equipped with all the necessary skills and equipment to ensure safety for all its members and guests. Furthermore, a dedicated safety and security officer is also part of the team and is responsible for safety trainings and maintaining safety-related equipment.
