PWDs want implementation of job quota
MANSEHRA: The people with disabilities on Friday demanded the government to provide them all the rights and services enshrined in the country’s constitution.
“Holding such a public forum only for PWDs is a great step in the right direction, and we want the government to ensure employment of our people on 2 per cent quotas fixed for them in public sector departments besides other rights,” Mohammad Bilal, who is a visually impaired, told the forum.
The PWDs from across the district attended the event and apprised Assistant Commissioner Qamar Malik, District Officer Social Welfare Sabir Shah and representatives of devolved departments about their problems.“I am here to hear you as the government is preparing policies to facilitate PWDs,” Malik said.
