MULTAN: The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) submitted draft recommendations concerning the role, mandate and functions of the South Punjab Secretariat. These recommendations will be submitted to the Punjab government for consideration and approval.

A consultative meeting reviewed the draft recommendations under the chair of Additional Chief Secretary Fawad Hashim Rabbani on Friday during which PILDAT president Faheem Ahmed Khan presented the recommendations.

The meeting was attended by South Punjab Secretariat Administrative Secretaries, Special

Secretaries, and Additional Secretaries. Addressing the participants, ACS Fawad Hashim

Rabbani praised the recommendations formulated by PILDAT, emphasising that they were developed through extensive consultations with various stakeholders, including the public, elected representatives, government officials, and journalists.

He highlighted the South Punjab Secretariat’s achievements in regional development and its initiatives across multiple departments. He also stressed the importance of devolving powers to lower levels to effectively address public grievances and to ensure high standards of public service delivery at the grassroots level.
