PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has formally approved the enhancement of oil and gas royalties from 10 percent to 15 percent for districts that produce these resources.
A handout said it was a long-awaited issue and the increase was formally approved by the KP cabinet. The rise in royalties’ amount honoured a commitment made by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan at a public meeting in July 2018.
Meanwhile, Minister for Agriculture Muhammad Sajjad congratulated the people of Karak on behalf of the KP government. He said the residents of the Kohat Division were grateful to the chief minister for the step.
The minister said the increase in oil and gas royalties would start a new chapter of development in the backward districts, which would provide various facilities for multi-sectoral activities and youth would get new employment opportunities.
