Fire breaks out in hotel on McLeod Road

LAHORE:A fire broke out in a private hotel, located on McLeod Road, on Friday. The fire, which engulfed a section of the hotel, led to a rapid deployment of rescue and firefighting teams to the site. As soon as the fire was reported, rescue emergency vehicles rushed to the scene. The situation was particularly dire as thick smoke quickly filled the hotel, trapping several guests and staff inside. Firefighters battled the flames for an hour, finally bringing the situation under control after exhaustive efforts.

The cause of the fire could not be known. No casualties were reported, but the incident raised concerns about fire safety measures in hotels. The hotel management has yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.

Five found dead

Five unidentified individuals were found dead at various locations across the provincial capital on Friday. A 40-year-old man was found dead in the washroom of Data Darbar, while a 30-year-old man was found dead near the railway gate in the limits of Liaquatabad police station. A 45-year-old man was found dead near the Sultanpura Orange Train station in Mughalpura police area.

Additionally, body of a 20-year-old youth was found on the footpath along Ghazi Road in Factory Area, and a 50-year-old man was found dead in Junglat Colony in the limits of Ravi Road police station. Bodies were shifted to the mortuary by Edhi ambulance.

Five die in road accidents in Punjab

Five people died and 987 sustained injuries in 962 road accidents across the province during the last 24 hours. Reportedly, 407 people out of 987 were shifted to hospitals in serious conditions. Some 552 drivers, 36 underage drivers, 123 pedestrians, and 317 passengers are among the victims of road accidents. Some 186 road accidents took place in Lahore, leaving 189 people injured and in Faisalabad 78 suffered injuries in 73 accidents and in Multan 73 people were injured in 68 road crashed. According to a data, some 850 motorbikes, 48 auto-rickshaws, 96 cars, 15 vans, three buses, 19 truck and 81 other types of auto vehicles and slow-moving carts were involved in the road accidents.
