Man caught at Karachi airport for bid to sneak into UK from Malaysia
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration Cell staff conducted an operation at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, and discovered over 47 visas on the mobile phone of a passenger travelling to Malaysia.
According to FIA officials, the suspect, Aliyan Zaman, was travelling to Malaysia on a visit visa. During interrogation, he said he intended to attempt to travel from Malaysia to the UK with the assistance of an agent.
FIA officials stated that the suspect is from Attock and had agreed to pay a total of Rs2.8 million to an agent residing in Attock. Before his arrest, the suspect had paid Rs400,000 to the agent.
The officials further mentioned that the amount was sent through cash and microfinance accounts. A Cambodian visa was also recovered from the suspect’s possession. More than 47 Cyprus visas were also found on the suspect’s mobile phone. These visas were issued in the names of citizens from Pakistan and Bangladesh.
