LCCI, FJMU agree on promotion of education, research

LAHORE:A high-level delegation of Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) led by President Kashif Anwar visited Fatima Jinnah Medical University (FJMU) and held a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ signing ceremony between Fatima Jinnah Medical University and Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the fields of education, research activities and other areas of mutual interest.

The other members of the LCCI Executive Committee were Ms Fariha Younus, Secretary General Shahid Khalil, Joint Secretary Furqan Munir, and Assistant Secretary Muhammad Ali. The Vice Chancellor of FJMU, Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal, along with the faculty, welcomed the delegation.

The VC said that mutual cooperation is the cornerstone of institution and nation building. He added that along with the signing of documents, it is also necessary to abide by the agreements. He said the agreements will be implemented in a time-bound manner to see its impact on the community.

Prof Dr Khalid Masood Gondal hoped that this agreement between the two institutions will help in further improving the quality of education. According to the agreement, the two institutions will encourage direct contact and collaboration between faculty members and students.

During the ceremony, the officers from both institutions discussed various initiatives that the MoU would support, including joint research projects, internships, capacity-building initiatives, and community health programmes. The partnership is expected to facilitate knowledge exchange and provide practical opportunities for students, entrepreneurs, and professionals alike.

This strategic alliance aims to bridge the gap between the healthcare sector and the business community. Both collaborators shared a vision to promote innovation, entrepreneurship, support professional development, and discuss opportunities to face challenges together.

The agreement was signed by Registrar Prof Dr Muhammad Nadeem on behalf of the university and President Kashif Anwar on behalf of the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event concluded with a shared vision of the development and importance of interdisciplinary cooperation in achieving broader social goals. Dr Khalid Masood Gondal presented a commemorative souvenir and University History Book to President, Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Kashif Anwar.
