Online cab driver found dead

LAHORE:A cab driver was found dead in his vehicle in the Nishtar Colony area on Thursday. The victim identified as Ghafarullah Khan, a resident of Ghaziabad, was an online taxi driver. He was shot dead by unidentified persons. Body was shifted to the morgue.

Man held for harassing women

The Dolphin Squad arrested a man for harassing women in the street in the Ghalib Market police area. A Safe City virtual patrolling officer observed the harassment and notified the police. The Dolphin Force arrested the suspect. He was released after submitting a written apology and promising not to repeat such behaviour.

Man hit to death by train

A 35-year-old man died after being hit by a train in Kot Lakhpat police area on Thursday. The man, yet to be identified, was crossing the railway track when he came under the wheels of the train, resulting in his instant death. Body was shifted to the morgue.

Two murder suspects arrested

Raiwind Investigation police apprehended two suspects involved in the murder of a 27-year-old man named Sajid. The accused were identified as Zahid Rashid and Asif. The accused Zahid suspected that his friend Sajid was involved in an illicit relationship with his daughter. Zahid and his accomplice Asif allegedly shot Sajid dead and then disposed of his body in an attempt to cover up the crime.

Three found dead

Three persons were found dead at different locations here in the City on Thursday. A 70-year-old man was found dead in Sherakot police area. Similarly, an unidentified man was found dead on PECO Road footpath, Liaquatabad. A 23-year-old youth was recovered dead near Karim Block Market, Gulshan Iqbal. The youth was identified as Tariq, a resident of Okara. Bodies were shifted to the mortuary by Edhi ambulance.

87,000 POs arrested in eight months

Police have arrested 87,000 proclaimed offenders (POs) across the province in eight months. The police arrested some 13,491 POs of A-Category, and 74,029 POs of B-Category and more than 47,000 court absconders of A-category and B-category. Some 21,942 habitual criminals of A-category and B-Category were also detained.
