Man, woman killed for ‘honour’
MANSEHRA: A man with the help of his son killed his daughter-in-law and her alleged paramour in the Bajna area of Oghi tehsil on Wednesday.
Ashraf Khan, an official of the Oghi Police Station, told reporters that a police party rushed to the scene after the incident and shifted both bodies to the Civil Hospital in Oghi where doctors completed the medico-legal formalities.
“We handed over the bodies to their respective families and started raids to arrest both accused who had managed to flee after the incident,” Ashraf Khan said.
He said that the woman and man were killed by the father-in-law of the former, Daraz Bilal and his son Zulfiqar Daraz inside a room.
Meanwhile, Ghaniur Rehman told police that his son Muhammad Zaman, 24, was a servant at a bungalow in Islamabad and he didn’t know how he came here.
“Police informed me that the body of Muhammad Zaman was shifted to the health facility,” he said. He added that his son was beaten with batons and sticks first and then fired upon by the assailants. “I was told by the assailants’ family that my son was killed over honour,” he told the police.
