LAHORE: The Additional IG Investigation Punjab Wednesday presided over a video link meeting held at the Central Police Office and expressed his displeasure over a delay in sending challans of cases to court on time.

All CPOs, DPOs, SSPs and SPs of the province attended the meeting through a video link.

The Additional IG expressed his displeasure over the failure to send challans of cases to courts on time.

He asked the CPOs and DPOs to ensure implementation of the court orders under their supervision.

He said the supervisory officers should ensure that the challans are forwarded to court within 17 days.

11,125 Kalashnikovs recovered in eight months

Police during ongoing crackdown on illegal arms have claimed to recover 11,125 Kalashnikovs from accused across the province during last eight months.

Police also recovered 30,627 pistols, 2,387 guns, 2,181 rifles, 492 revolvers from accused.

Lahore police have recovered 104 Kalashnikovs, 6,409 pistols, 457 rifles, 249 guns, 49 revolvers from the possession of accused.

CCPO orders strict security of hot spot areas

The CCPO Lahore Wednesday ordered strict security of hot spot areas of the provincial capital.

Presiding over a meeting at his office held to review the progress toward achieving the department's performance goals, the CCPO ordered security of sparsely populated regions and modern policing techniques for crime control.

He ordered continuous combing and search operations in Lahore to maintain exemplary public peace.

He urged rapid actions against drug-related issues and advised implementing an open-door policy to address police-related complaints and issues.
