Lesco adds Sui gas grid station to improve power supply

LAHORE : Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) Chief Executive Engineer Shahid Haider inaugurated a new 132Kv Sui gas grid station in view of improvement in power transmission system of the Lesco, here on Wednesday.

Speaking on this occasion, the CEO said that reforms are being brought in the electricity transmission system across the region and in this context, a new grid station has been added to the system for the convenience of consumers and the transmission system.

Work has been completed on priority basis at 132kv Sui Gas Grid Station to redress the complaints of overloading.

He mentioned that two new power transformers of 20/26MVA have been installed in the new 132Kv Sui Gas Grid Station and a double circuit bus bar has been installed.

It would not only improve the voltage but also reduce technical losses.

This grid would also share the overload issue on other grids because of reduced length of 11kv lines.

Jati Umra, Raiwind Road, Sunder-Raiwind Road, AWT Society and Chinar Bagh areas would have better load profile, he said and asserted that Lesco has always tried to provide better facilities to its customers.

Rs28.91bn recovered in drive against electricity theft

The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has released detailed statistics regarding the recovery efforts against electricity theft.

According to the data, during the anti-electricity theft campaign, Lesco identified 120,091 offenders and imposed detection bills amounting to Rs47.45billion.

Of this total, the company has successfully recovered Rs28.91billion.

Out of the 120,091 offenders, full recovery has been achieved from 16,736 individuals, who collectively owed Rs9.10billion in fines.

Additionally, Lesco is currently recovering dues in installments from 102,760 offenders, from whom Rs19.81billion has already been collected.

However, 11,611 offenders have failed to pay their fines, leading to the disconnection of their electricity connections.

Four officers promoted

Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has promoted four officers of Grade 19 to Grade 20. A Lesco spokesman told media that the company has issued a promotion notification to four Managers to the post of Chief Engineer, thus promoting them from Grade 19 to grade 20.

After the approval of the Lesco Board of Directors, a notification has been issued directing the promotion of Muhammad Zafar Iqbal to Grade 20 and the continuation of services as Chief Engineer O&M (T&G), Muhammad Akhlaq Qadri in Grade 20 promotion and direction to continue services as Chief Engineer TS Design, promotion of Altaf Qadir to Grade 20 and direction to continue services as Director General Mirad, promotion of Imran Mehmood to Grade 20 and direction to continue services as Chief Engineer P&D Lesco. The company’s Chief Executive Officer Engineer Shahid Haider congratulated all the officers.
