LDA demolishes illegal structures across Lahore

LAHORE : Continuing its operation against commercial fee defaulters and illegal constructions in different areas, Lahore Development Authority (LDA) conducted a mega operation here on Wednesday.

The operation was supervised by Chief Town Planner-I Asad Zaman and conducted by Director TP Ayesha Mutahir and Director TP Ahmed Saeed in the vicinities of Timber Market, Gujjarpura, Sabzazar, Gulshan Ravi, and the surrounding areas of Shadman.

Lahore Development Authority teams demolished four illegal constructions in Timber Market and two in Gujjarpura. They also sealed 20 properties in Gulshan Ravi for non-payment of commercial fees, and five properties over violation of SOPs regarding construction materials.

These properties included private schools, clinics, grocery shops, and banks.

In another operation, LDA Town Planning Zone II staff carried out operations in various blocks of Sabzazar and Mustafa Town, sealing over 20 properties for non-payment of commercial fees.

These properties included private schools, grocery shops, property offices, tailor shops, motorcycle shops, catering centers, steel stores, and others.

Meanwhile, LDA DG Tahir Farooq visited the area of Pine Avenue and Ada Plot and reviewed the ongoing operation against encroachments. Encroachments were removed from the parking area.

The property owners had established encroachments of 20 to 30 feet. Illegal signboards were removed by the TEPA teams.

Illegal constructions and advertisement boards placed in the parking area were also removed.
