LAHORE: “Citizens can get their residential maps approved by the LDA online at the ease of their homes,” said Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz while appreciating the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) for starting online approval of residential building plans, for which citizens can apply either via the LDA mobile app or the LDA website (www.lda. gop.pk). She said: “Citizens will not have to visit the LDA office and wait in long queues to get their residential building plans approved. The request for map approval, map upload, processing and Challan will all be online. The correction in case of objection will also be uploaded, and the approved map may be downloaded. Digital reforms in the LDA are being done at a fast pace. Government departments across Punjab are being digitized on modern lines to get rid of file culture and IT-based reforms will free citizens from the agent mafia and corruption. The Dastak pilot project is showing excellent results, we will gradually expand its scope.”
Homage to Data Ganj Bakhsh: “Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA) spread the message of love, respect, peace and tolerance,” she said while highlighting the spiritual services of Hazrat Ali bin Usman Al-Hajwairi (Data Ganj Bakhsh) on his 981st Urs. She expressed her satisfaction over administrative and security arrangements for the Urs. She directed authorities to take all possible measures for the hospitality of devotees attending the Urs and said: “Pilgrims coming to the Urs are our guests, they must be treated with love. They should be offered Langar with love and respect. The best discipline be ensured to avoid the rush at Sabeels.” She directed traffic officers to take necessary measures for the smooth flow of traffic.
Maryam condemned the killing of 23 innocent people in the Musakhel area of Balochistan. She also condemned a terrorist attack in Qalat and paid tribute to the sacrifices of Levies, police and innocent civilians in the fight against terrorism.
She offered condolences to the bereaved families. Maryam directed ensuring the sale of bread at the fixed price across Punjab. “Never allow the bread to be sold above the fixed price in any city,” she directed authorities while chairing a meeting on price control immediately after her return to Lahore from Murree on Monday. She reviewed food prices, especially the prices of bread and flour, in each district. She said, “Flour should be supplied to people across the province at the controlled rate.”
She was briefed by Industry Secretary Ehsan Bhatta about the prices of essential commodities. She was also briefed on price control efforts by the administration in different districts. She was apprised that as per a report of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, Punjab had the lowest food rates compared to other provinces. She expressed satisfaction over the price control mechanism in the province and appreciated the efforts of administrative authorities in this regard.
