JI backs traders call for shutdown
MARDAN: Jamaat-e-Islami Mardan chapter leader Ghulam Rasool on Monday said his party would extend support to the traders, who were going to observe a shutter down strike tomorrow (August 28).
JI leaders Ibrahim Buland, Saeed Akhtar Advocate, Manzoor-ul-Haq, Muhammad Jahanzeb, Maulana Fazlullah and others were also present.Ghulam Rasool said that they were not against tax collection but the government must not impose anti-business policies on the business community.
He said the government should facilitate the business community instead of imposing heavy taxation.The JI leader said the government should revisit the agreements with the independent power producers to provide relief to the businesspeople and the electricity consumers.
He said the traders were the backbone of the economy, therefore, the government should provide them incentives and lower the cost of doing business.Ghulam Rasool added that on August 28, a protest camp would be set up on Bank Road in Mardan to express solidarity with the business community.
