Over 1,000 religious seminaries to get free solar system in KP

Secretary Energy Nisar instructed project director to prepare PC-1 so that practical work on scheme can be started immediately

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to install free solar systems in more than 1000 seminaries across the province, including the merged tribal districts, in order to promote religious education. In the light of the instructions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister, an official communique said, the Auqaf and Reli gious Affairs Department would start a survey with the support of the Energy and Power Department across the province to sola rise the registered madaris. The decision was taken at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Secretary Energy and Power Nisar Ahmad Khan. Secretary Auqaf and Religious Affairs Adil Siddique, Project Director Solarization Engineer Asfandyar Khan Musa Zai and Senior Planning Officer Engineer Luqman Hakeem had attended the meeting. Secretary Auqaf Adil Siddique informed the meeting that the project would be started soon with the support of the Energy Department after the sur vey in consultation with the Director General Reli gious Education (DGRE). “Each madrasa will be pro vided with a solar system as required,” he added. Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Energy Nisar Ahmad Khan instructed the project director to prepare PC-1 so that the practical work on the scheme can be started immediately.
