Cop martyred in Kurram checkpost attack

PARACHINAR: A cop was martyred and another sustained injuries when suspected militants attacked a police checkpost at Marghai Cheena area in central parts of Kurram tribal district.

Police sources said that a group of militants armed with sophisticated weapons attacked a checkpost of the police at Marghai Cheena area in Kurram, leaving one cop killed and another wounded. The attackers also torched the police checkpost before fleeing the area.

The fallen cop was identified as Quwwat Khan and the injured as constable Shahzad. District Police Officer of Kurram Ahmad Khan said that the police had launched an investigation into the attack.
