Over Rs5m scholarships for 102 students

LAHORE:IG Punjab has issued educational scholarships totaling over Rs5.475 million to 102 students in graduation programmes for their fee payments.

Scholarships amounting to more than Rs65 million were awarded to 2,590 students enrolled in intermediate degree programmes, while over Rs21 million were granted to students pursuing MPhil and PhD programmes. According to a Punjab Police spokesman, students studying in educational institutions across various districts, including Lahore, will benefit from these scholarships.

Security for Data Ganj Bakhsh Urs

Lahore police has implemented extensive security arrangements for the 981st Urs of Hazrat Ali Hajveri, Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA). Over 4,000 police personnel, including six SPs, 22 DSPs, 79 SHOs and 297 upper subordinates were deployed for the security duty of three days Urs celebrations. As per the spokesman for Lahore Police, at least 81 checkpoints, nine check posts and 12 walk-through gates have been established in this regard. The CCPO has directed that no vehicles or motorcycles be parked outside the designated parking areas.

Imam Hussain Chehlum security plan

The security plan for Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) was finalized by the Lahore Police. Over 5,000 police officers will be deployed to secure the main procession. This includes 12 SPs, 28 SDPOs, and 84 SHOs from Lahore Police. Additionally, 247 female police personnel will be on duty to conduct searches of women. Participants will be permitted to join the procession only after a thorough security check.
