Boy drowns in BRB canal

LAHORE:A boy drowned in the BRB canal near Khaira Bridge on Sunday. Witnesses reported that the boy jumped into the canal but failed to resurface. A search operation by the Rescue diving team is ongoing to find him.

Four found dead in different areas

Four people were found dead in different areas of the City on Sunday. Body of a man was found in the River Ravi, Shahdara. Another body of a youth was found at Salamatpura Orange Train station, Baghbanpura.

The police claimed that the man was an addict. A woman's body was found in a park in the Sabzazar area. The police claimed that the woman, yet to be identified, was an addict who might have died of excessive use of drugs. A 40-year-old man was found dead on the footpath near Miani Sahab Graveyard. Bodies were shifted to the mortuary.

Drunk SI arrested

Race Course police arrested a drunk sub-inspector at a private hotel. According to the hotel management, Sub-Inspector Waseem barged into a function taking place at the hotel on Davis Road and proceeded to abuse everyone in the presence of women. Upon being informed, the police quickly arrived at the scene and arrested the intoxicated officer.

Man held for raping minor

Batapur police arrested a man for raping a girl. The accused Abdul Razzaq had taken a 4-year-old girl to the fields, tied her up and raped her.
