Notice to THQ Hospital MS over mismanagement

LAHORE:Health Minister Kh Imran Nazeer visited Muridke THQ Hospital and showed concern over poor management of the hospital, irrational approach regarding duties of doctors, causing poor patient care, especially in emergency and other sections of the hospital.

The minister passed directions for issuing show-cause notice to MS of the hospital and directed a pharmacist to report back P&SHD. The minister found no duty roaster for pharmacists round-the-clock, no pharmacist for evening and night shift and mismanagements, causing poor treatment for the patients.

The minister said better healthcare and provision of medicines to poor patients are his redline upon which no compromise would be made. He said general cleanliness of the hospital was poor and streetlights were not working properly, adding there were parking issues in front of emergency.

Minister visits PINS, inquires after injured cop

Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique arrived at the Punjab Institute of Neurosciences to visit the seriously injured policeman Bilal Javed in Kacha area. He presented a bouquet of flowers to the injured policeman. Other doctors including MS Dr Umar Ishaq, Dr Zubair, Dr Tariq and Dr Ehtesham were present. On the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the injured policeman Bilal Javed was immediately transferred to PINS Hospital Lahore by air ambulance. Khawaja Salman Rafique said a team of senior doctors under the leadership of Executive Director PINS Professor Asif Bashir is ensuring better treatment to the injured policeman.

Reviews security arrangements for Chehlum, Urs

Health Minister and Chairman Cabinet Committee on Peace and Order Khawaja Salman Rafique visited the central control room of the Home Department here on Sunday.

Special Secretary Home Fazalur Rehman, Additional Secretary Usman Khalid and other provincial officers were present on this occasion. The minister reviewed the monitoring system in the control room with reference to the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his companions, and on this occasion, the relevant officers gave a briefing on the monitoring system. The minister reviewed the Chehlum processions and the security arrangements of Data Sahib Urs. Foolproof security arrangements have been made, Khawaja Salman Rafique said, adding extraordinary security arrangements are complete for 514 processions and 917 Majalis across the province.

Around 43 companies of Pak Army and Rangers are also performing their duties on Chehlum across the province, Khawaja Salman said and directed that all security personnel should remain on duty until peaceful return of the mourners.
