PM decides to strengthen PMO’s media wing

Wing was headed by Joint Secretary Abdul Akbar who is a grade 20 officer

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has decided to further upgrade and strengthen the media wing of the Prime Minister’s Office.

The wing was headed by Joint Secretary Abdul Akbar who is a grade 20 officer. Now, in his place, Muhammad Arshad Munir, a grade-21 officer of the Information Group, has been posted as Additional Secretary to Prime Minister’s Office (Public) who will head the press wing.

The Establishment Division has issued a notification of his appointment with the approval of the prime minister. Muhammad Arshad Munir was serving as the Executive Director General of Information Service Academy, Islamabad. He was previously a joint secretary in the Ministry of Information. Joint Secretary Abdul Akbar will also continue to support him.

Meanwhile, postings and transfers have been made in the bureaucracy as 10 deputy secretaries and two section officers have been transferred.

Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Trade and Commerce Ms Shaheen has been appointed as Deputy Secretary of National Security Division and Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Health Abdul Basit has been appointed as Deputy Secretary of National Heritage and Culture. Imran Mashal, Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, has been transferred and his services have been returned to the Ministry of Railways.

Shahbaz Khan has been appointed as Deputy Secretary of Overseas Pakistanis Division, Beenish Ashraf Tahir as Deputy Secretary Revenue Division, Muhammad Khalil Chaudhry as Deputy Secretary Religious Affairs and Majid Abbas has been appointed as Deputy Secretary of the Inter-Provincial Coordination Division.

Meanwhile, the services of Deputy Secretary Interior Mazhar Javed and Deputy Secretary Religious Affairs Muhammad Ali Shehzad Muzaffar were handed over to the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC). Syed Sadat Ali Bukhari, Section Officer Anti-Narcotics Division and grade-18 officer of OMG, has been transferred and his services have been handed over to the SIFC. Shehbaz Khan, Section Officer, Cabinet Division and grade-18 officer of OMG, has been transferred and posted as Section Officer, Inter-Provincial Coordination Division. The Establishment Division has issued notifications of these appointments and transfers.
