PESHAWAR: The district administration on Friday sealed laboratories and referred a case of corruption to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Care Commission after discovering serious discrepancies in the lab results.

There were complaints about some of the laboratories and their exploitation of the people seeking medical fitness certificates for overseas travel. In a surprising move, the district administration, in collaboration with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Care Commission, inspected three Gulf Coordination Council-approved laboratories, including Inam Medical Center, Al-Ameer Medical Diagnostic Center, and Medical Diagnostic Center. These laboratories, which provide medical testing facilities to workers traveling to Gulf countries, were found to have discrepancies in their lab results.

Following the discovery, the laboratories were sealed, and a case of corruption was referred to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Care Commission for further disciplinary action.

The inspection team reviewed laboratories’ facilities, verified staff credentials, and cross-checked reports with system records. An official said the crackdown aimed to ensure the provision of quality medical testing facilities to workers traveling abroad.
