JHANG: The district administration on Friday finalised all arrangements for the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) to be observed on August 26.

In this connection, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Umair along with the DPO inspected the main procession route and Majalis sites in the area of Old Jhang City. The district police officials briefed that a security plan had been chalked out in which 1,500 policemen would perform security duty to protect 29 processions and 48 Majalis in different parts of the district.

The DC said that coordination with organisers and licence holders had also been completed for the timely completion of processions and Majalis. He added that as per security SOPs, mourners would be checked with metal detectors and walk through gates would be installed at entry points with the support of volunteers.

DC Muhammad Umair said that the sensitive procession of the 18th Safar would commence from Dilmeer Swag’s house and would culminate at Imambargah Basti Sialkot of Garh Maharaja on the same day.

He told that the second and top sensitive procession of the 20th Safar would start from Dera Nawaban from Old Jhang City and would conclude at Imambargah Qadeemi in the same area by marching through its traditional route amid tight security, he told. DC Umair mentioned that a separate traffic plan had been devised by the Traffic Police for the smooth flow of public and private transport through alternate routes during the Chehlum programmes.
