International Falcon Breeders Auction underway in Riyadh

Saudi media has reported that the auction was held at the headquarters of the Saudi Falcons Club in Malham, north of Riyadh

ISLAMABAD: The 2024 10-day International Falcon Breeders Auction (IFBA) is underway with the sale of the most expensive falcon of the year for SAR400,000 (PKR29,600,162) on the ninth night.

The Saudi media has reported that the auction was held at the headquarters of the Saudi Falcons Club in Malham, north of Riyadh.

At the event, Pacific Northwest Falcons, an American falconry, presented two falcons for auction, which sold for a total of SAR486,000. The first falcon, a peregrine chick “Super White,” was initially priced at SAR40,000 but was sold for SAR86,000. The second falcon, a peregrine chick “Ultra White,” was initially priced at SAR100,000 and was sold for SAR400,000.

The auction is a renowned platform for elite falcons from around the world, featuring championship-winning breeds. It brings together falconers, producers and enthusiasts from Saudi Arabia and various countries.

The countries represented include the United States, United Kingdom, France, Austria, Belgium, Italy, Uzbekistan and others, with several nations contributing multiple breeders.
