70 properties sealed over violation of parking rules

LAHORE:Teams of LDA and TEPA carried out a mega operation against the violators of parking rules in the city and sealed around 70 properties here on Thursday.

The operation was started on the instructions of LDA DG Tahir Farooq. TEPA Enforcement Wing conducted operations at Faisal Town Main Boulevard, Abul Hassan Isfahani Road, PIA Road, Shadiwal to Khokhar Chowk, Johar Town and nearby areas.

The sealed properties included reputed brands, tyre shops, showrooms, private offices, private schools, shops and food points. The properties also included private banks, restaurants, clinics, bakeries, coffee shops etc. All the sealed properties also encroached on the parking space.

Meanwhile, LDA DG visited Nursery Stop to Chandi Chowk near Peco Road Sattokatla Drain. Assistant Commissioner Model Town Sahibzada Yusuf gave a briefing about the ongoing operation against encroachments and said that the encroachments around the Chandni Chowk drain have been removed from the Nursery Stop and the road has been widened. District Administration and PHA were doing plantation at the place. LDA DG reviewed the ongoing operation and directed further steps for the convenience of the citizens.

LDA DG also visited LDA Citizen Facilitation Centre (One Window Cell) and reviewed the daily applications received at the Citizen Facilitation Center. He reviewed the progress of Sifted and non-Sifted files.

Director Citizen Facilitation Centre Rafia Nazir, Chief Town Planner-I Asdulzaman gave a briefing and said that the process of online approval of residential building plan was going on in LDA. So far, 116 people received application for approval of online building plan and 29 submitted challan. Residential building plans of all 29 applicants who submitted challans have been approved online, he added.

Tahir Farooq said that citizens have got great convenience with online building plan approval. Citizens can get the map approved from LDA's mobile App and website at home. He also heard the problems of the citizens who came to the Citizen Facilitation Centre.
